Chief Medical Officer for the conect4children Stichting, Lead of the STAND4Kids network, Associate Professor in Clinical Pharmacology, Consultant Pediatrician, and Clinical Researcher.

Research background includes clinical epidemiology, clinical trial methodology, clinimetrics and synthesis research, in the Netherlands and Canada, and the Gulbenkian/Champalimaud Foundation Advanced Medical Education MD-PhD Program. Research interests have focused on pediatric respiratory and allergic diseases, pediatric clinical pharmacology and drug development, and methodology, including pediatric
clinical trial design, analysis and reporting, data monitoring committees, systematic reviews and metaanalysis, and trial operations. Collaborated in the inception of pediatrics research collaborations such as the StaR Child Health initiative and the Pediatric Emergency Research Networks. Served with the European Respiratory Society (as Group Chair) and the Cochrane Collaboration (as Director of the Cochrane Child Health Field). Previous Work Package lead and National Hub lead in the conect4children/c4c IMI/IHI consortium that created a paneuropean clinical trial network.

Founding Board Member of the conect4children-Stichting (Foundation), serving as Chief Medical Officer since its incorporation. Current elected Co-Chair of EnprEMA.
