Sabine Fürst-Recktenwald

Dr. Sabine Fürst-Recktenwald is the Head Clinical Development Pediatric Center of Exellence at Novartis.
She is the functional leader of the Pediatric clinical group and responsible for the implementation of the cross-functional pediatric organization to provide expert clinical and strategic advice across the entire Novartis portfolio. She is a board certified pediatrician with speciality in pediatric diabetology from the University of Erlangen/Germany. She has over 25 years of experience in drug development in the pharmaceutical industry, with 8 years in Sanofi-Aventis and before she took this role in June 2025, 18 years at Roche, including strategic roles in both early and late clinical research & development and medical affairs.
Sabine has a broad experience in the management of international pediatric trials and served as EFPIA representative on the ICH E11 guideline update from 2013-2017 and the ICH E11A pediatric extrapolation guideline, which has been published in Aug/2024 and is now preparing training materials.
